Ripping Ripping is defined as cutting along the materials length OR cutting with the grain. The Radial Arm Saw COULD rip material if set up properly

Cross cutting Cross cutting is defined as cutting the material’s length OR cutting across the grain. The Radial Arm Saw is for rough cross cutting only

Operation Procedure 1 1. Set up a wood screw clamp or a stop block when cutting identical lengths of material. OR 1. Crop your material to the length needed with chalk.

Operation Procedure 2 2. The material must be tight against the fence when cutting on the radial arm saw.

Operation Procedure 3 3. The operator should have one hand on the handle and one hand on the material. AND The operator’s hands must be at least six inches away from the blade when cutting on the radial arm saw. AND When using the radial arm saw, the operator should never cross his/her arms.

Operation Procedure 4 4. Turn the machine on and rock the saw gently through the material.

Operation Procedure 5 5. Remove material after total blade retraction and turn the machine off.
