Personality is a collection of emotional, cognitive and behavioural patterns unique to a person that is consistent over time Originates from the Latin persona, which means "mask.“

What does PERSONALITY consist of ? Positives and negatives Lighter and darker shades of personality Unique integration of skills, attitude, capabilities,values and beliefs.

Nature OR Nurture What Influences our personality development ? Is it Nature ? Is it Nurture ?

Personality is about nature interacting with nurture. Or to put it another way: Personality = Temperament + Character

Temperament refers to our inborn characteristics, our ‘factory settings’, how we are wired. Even at birth one can see individual variations on the human theme. Character refers to our acquired characteristics, our ‘custom settings’, how we have learned to deal with life since we were born. Our character is also the sum of our virtues and vices.
