Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Capstone RBMI spotlight: software roadmap and user advisory council Oswaldo Rodriguez Deputy Product Manager Lloyd’s Register Technical Services 10/10/2013

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Agenda User Advisory Council Feature Spotlight Roadmap Release 9.6.1 Release 9.7.1 Future Releases

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 What is the User Advisory Council? Group of customers that collaborate as industry experts Advice on the product’s direction Industry trends and best practices Provide ideas and suggestions to improve the current software

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 What are the group’s objectives? Create a clear communication channel between RBMI customers and LRTS on current and future business problems and challenges. Encourage customers’ participation in the product’s direction. Align the product with the customer’s technology and business plan. Find driving and restraining forces and collaborate to find solutions and replicate success.

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 User Advisory Council Mechanics Aim is to have 2-3 meetings a year Usually WebEx Agenda sent before the meeting Meeting minutes sent to participants Recommendations are considered by LR

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 User Advisory Council Recommendations Recommendation: Ensure that the views capture all the information contained in the database so users do not have to utilize back-door queries. Actions: We are in the process of updating all the datasets to include all the information from the database We are also fixing all the OSS bugs related to Report Server and Crystal Reports We are aiming for a end-of-year release or early next year Report Server 2008 Items

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 User Advisory Council Recommendations (cont.) Recommendation: Review the training materials for Report Server, update them to the latest version, and design them with engineers and inspectors in mind. Actions: We are designing a light-weight training for Report Server Management / Inspectors in mind Include hands-on and assessments For more advanced users, a Report Builder class focused on how to build reports with filters, parameters and combining datasets Report Server 2008 Items

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 User Advisory Council Recommendations (cont.) Recommendation: Update OSS more frequently indicating the status of the bug or enhancement request. Actions: We are building a more efficient process to communicate progress on bugs and enhancements Currently, Support is annotating any updates on OSS to keep customers in the loop Recommendation: Communicate to the customer if the same bug or request has been previously submitted by other customers. Action: This will be part of the new internal process Support Items

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 User Advisory Council Recommendations (cont.) Recommendation: Add the Inspection Confidence Calculator as part of RBMI. Action: This is being reviewed by our engineering team on the feasibility of adding these calculations as part of RBMI. Other Items

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Feature Spotlight: Online Training Training delivered on- demand! 5 different modules General Overview Data entry Visual Inspections NDE Non-conformances

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Feature Spotlight: Online Training (cont.) Great for Refreshing concepts / best practices Users getting up-to-speed in the application Training at user’s pace / convenience Feature include Voice-over script Show me option: video instructs user on how to accomplish a task Let Me Try It option: video interacts with the user to accomplish a task Quizzes to test understanding of the module Printed Certificate: to demonstrate completion of module

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Release 9.6.2 Centered in Report Server 2008 R2 Uses windows authentication (Active Directory) 2008 R2 Shared Datasets replace 2005 Models 2008 R2 Datasets and Standard Reports now have filters. This improves performance and creates the ability to filter data at the Plant and Unit levels. Custom Reports built in Report Server 2005 will need to be rebuilt using the 2008 R2 Shared Datasets. NDE Inspection Module: Calculation of Remaining Life When the CML’s last reading is less than or equal to T-min, then remaining life will now be zero, regardless of the short term or long term corrosion rates. Roadmap

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 October 2013 : 9.7.1 Release Repairs Module Added ERP fields at the Plant / Unit / System level Activate / deactivate assets at Plant / Unit / System level Item criticality Bug Fixes Roadmap (cont.)

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Future Releases Report Server Datasets quality effort Make every field of the Database available to build reports RBMI bug fixes Quality is our #1 focus New Functionality (things we are considering) Store documents in the database Centralize the location where the default location for the documents is configured. Allow the ability to localize the default setting per plant. Roadmap (cont.)

Safety Driven Performance Conference 2013 Future Releases New Functionality (things we are considering) Anomaly Management Pipeline adds Fitness for Service Suggestions? Shoot us an email LRTS.Help@kbai.net Roadmap (cont.)
