Objectives This is a project jointly run by both English teachers and Geography teachers, aiming at enhancing students’ knowledge in human geography enriching students’ vocabulary strengthening students’ presentation skills

Theme Land Use (Shamshuipo – case study)
The topic will be taught by Geography teachers in September.

Suggested tasks: 1. Enriching students’ vocabulary
Things to do: English teachers choose a list of vocabulary from the Geography textbook (English version). The recording of the vocabulary list will be uploaded to e-class, so students can familiarize themselves with the list. Teachers can ask students to revise the words as SAL and set dictation.

2. Website Students will have to reflect on what they
have read in their Self Access Learning Log after visiting the related websites.

3. Project Proposed schedule: Dates 17/9-21/9
Introduction of the project to students (both Geography & English Teachers) 24/9-28/9 Upload the vocabulary list to e-class English Teachers : ask students to familiarize themselves with the list and set Dictation Geography Teachers : Ask students to form into groups (within their own class & English group) Set topics for students to choose & help brainstorm ideas in Geography lessons.

2-3 /10 Each group of students submit a proposal to Geography teacher (written in Chinese). 4/10-10/10 Students collect data, conduct small scale research for their project 11-16/10 Analyse the data, organize their ideas and write short English report in point form 17-18/10 Submit the report to Geography Teachers

22-26/10 Geography Teachers give feedback to students 29/10-2/11 Students prepare for English presentation 5-8/11 Group presentation in English lessons (CTV will record all presentations) ** will be counted as daily marks
