3. Attendance Absences will not be categorized as excused or unexcused, therefore it is vital that your child be in school each day. Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Conroe ISD Handbook regarding due dates on completing missed assignments. 18 days every year = 1 year and 13 weeks of missed instruction 8:05 - Tardy Bell

4. General Information Change of Transportation – In the event your child's transportation should change, you must submit a dated written note. An email to your child's teacher will not be accepted. Birthday Treats – Treats can be served at the end of the day. Please arrange treats with your child’s teacher to account for various schedule changes. All treats must be store bought and include a label listing all ingredients. Birthday invitations may not be distributed at school, unless the entire class has an invitation.

5. Green Folder – Daily Take-Home Folder Blue Folder – Homework Folder The green and blue folders will go home each day. Graded work and school information will be distributed on Tuesday of each week in your child's green folder.

6. Color Change System Green – Super! Yellow – Oops! (a warning) Orange – 2nd warning (5 mins out of recess) Red – Final Warning (10 mins out of recess & contact parent) Please initial your child’s Dragon Sheet each day.

Dragons Digging Deeper D3 - Enrich classroom learning by working on targeted areas based on child’s needs - Through data from common assessments and benchmarks, we are able to identify areas of strength and/or weakness in order to meet the needs of all children - All students will participate in D3 time in order to advance their learning - 45 minutes each day

10. Daily Reading Log: Students are required to r ead 20 minutes, five days a week OR 100 minutes each week. Reading logs are due each Friday and will be averaged as a homework grade. Spelling: Students are given a spelling list every other week. During the first week of having the words, they are required to complete Spelling Bingo. The second week of having the words, the students will be writing sentences or stories using their words. Spelling homework is due every Friday and will be averaged as a homework grade. Social Studies: Interactive notebooks will come home To review vocabulary for any tests.

11. Grading Social Studies Daily: 35% Major: 60% Homework: 5% Language Arts Daily: 35% Major: 35% DRA: 25% Homework: 5% The Developed Reading Assessment (DRA) grading scale will be discussed further at your parent-teacher conference.

12. Final Reminders Early Release Dates: Students will be released at 12:05 on October 17 and December 19. Fall Conferences: Once all beginning of the year assessments have concluded, you will be receiving an email to sign up for a parent-teacher conference. Sign-ups will be through VolunteerSpot.
