2 WHO ARE WE? – THE CHARITY o Local charity which works with young people in the South Bristol area. o Consortium of six schools. o Ashton Park, Bedminster Down, Bridge Learning Campus, Brislington Enterprise College, Merchants’ Academy and Oasis John Williams. o Run a number of programmes in the area o 500 young people involved o Partnered with a number of organisations. o Camilla Chandler-Mant

10 DEAN FIELD STUDY CENTRE, FOREST OF DEAN Residential Easter and May 10 students x 2

11 BRISTOL POST Potential to work with the Bristol Post on writing an article

12 VOLUNTEERING AND GREEN CAPITAL Green Capital Meeting Volunteering opportunities Colston Hall Event

13 WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP? o For this to work, we’d be really grateful if you helped support the programme at home. o You can do this by asking ‘open’ questions to your child after each activity o Examples of open questions are: o ‘Describe to me what you did today?’ o ‘What did you find most interesting?’ o ‘Why did you enjoy this activity?’ o ‘What have you gained from this event?’

14 WEBSITE o Also, there is our website southbristolyouth.org.uk o We will be uploading news updates, photos and videos of the events so you and your child can see what we’ve got up to and share the experience together.

15 FURTHER PARTICULARS o Packed lunch o School uniform o Warm and suitable clothes for Goblin Combe. Eg, sturdy shoes, thick socks, hat, walking boots. o No cost o Xmas performance – tickets and travel o Residential – Easter/May, 10 students each o Consent Form/Media/Medical
