2. Usage Guide of Openstack After connecting to the VPN network, open a browser and enter below address: 172.25.166.1/horizon You will see the screen on the right. Enter credentials: fiuser - fiuser

3. The first screen will show the current usage of the Project: FI-Space

4. If you want to create a Virtual Machine: Firstly, Click «Instances» tab at left side of the screen. You will see the current instances (Virtual Machines) which are created before. Click «Launch Instance» button on right-top of the screen. A new screen will show up.

On the Screen Select these values: On Details: Instance Source: Image Image: UbuntuXXXX or Windows Instance Name: «fill with a name Flavor: «Choose your Instance size» Instance Count: «Write Count» On Access & Security tab: Keypair: Leave as it is. Security Groups: «Choose fispace for pre-defined access ports» On Networking tab: Click «+» sign of the «localnetwork» Click Launch button.

6. On the screen your instance will be created in 1-2 minutes. For Ubuntu Images: Click the «More» button at right side of your instance. Click «View Log». You will see your username and password here (Usually for Ubuntu images username is «ubuntu», and password is generated randomly.

7. At the end of the log screen you will find your password: Now, you can access your server with given IP address information in the Instance list:

8. Alternatively; you can reach your server’s consol screen by using «More» button on your instance: Click «Console» link. A little black screen will show up. Click «Click here to show only console» link at top. You will reach fully controlled console of the instance

There is no password needed for Windows servers. – In order to give your instance (virtual machine) a publicly reachable IP address, please contact Yaman Sertdemir and Özgür Sönmezer (Security Group), you can attach a Floating IP for your Instance but it will wont work until Security Group define Public IP NAT. – Currently there are two Images defined in the system: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Windows 2012 (Unlisenced). If you need additional images, please contact Yaman Sertdemir. New image creation will take about 1 to 2 days.
