3 Rotary in the future Corporate & family memberships recognized Associate Members and “Friends of Rotary” at Club level Improve orientation & mentoring of new members Regular use of “Membership Satisfaction Questionnaire Membership

4 Rotary in the future Business like Punctual, not time-wasting Speakers – quality speakers, not at every meeting, keep to time, cover Rotary programs Meal optional National anthem on special occasions only, no other singing Meetings

5 Rotary in the future Toast optional, should be to ‘’Australia” Invocation optional or generic eg. “For good food, good fellowship, and the privilege to serve, we give thanks’’ Sergeant session optional – avoid bad taste humour, in-jokes, keep short. Sergeant to fulfil proper function of assisting chair to keep meeting in order Meetings

6 Rotary in the future Variety of types of meetings & social events including family events Frequency of meetings to be determined by the club Cultivate culture of hospitality – always meet & greet Meetings

8 Rotary in the future Balanced program of local & international service with range of achievable service projects Service projects not to consist of fundraising alone Service projects combined with or instead of meetings when applicable Work in partnership with local businesses and community groups on community projects Work with schools on Youth projects Service Projects

9 Rotary in the future Club Leadership Plan supported All clubs develop annual and long-term strategic plans Continuity emphasized in club leadership and committees – succession planning at all levels Clubs provide Rotary training program for all members Leadership training for club leaders available and utilised Administration

12 Rotary in the future Consider reduced fees for partners and young Rotarians Consider reduced RI subs for members in disadvantaged countries (PNG, Solomons, Timor Leste) Meal optional at meetings Meetings without meals Rotary must provide value for money to members Cost of Rotary

13 Rotary in the future Rotary widely recognized throughout Australia and in local communities for its local, national, and international service projects and community involvement. Club marketing and public relations supported by ongoing District and National marketing plan. Realistic budgets provided for marketing Image

14 Rotary in the future Consider formation of a national peak Rotary body to deal with media, governments, corporations, NGOs etc., and to administer a national marketing plan. Consider holding an Australian Rotary Conference, perhaps at 2-3 year intervals, to allow Rotarians to discuss appropriate themes. National Issues
