2. 2 What is KRAD KRAD is the codename for the next generation of KNS It will be a rapid application development framework for use by many Kuali Foundation Projects It will continue to provide out-of-the-box integration with other Rice components KNS is a proven RAD framework already used by many projects and institutions KRAD will improve at least the following – User Experience by improving and standardizing the UI – Common dictionary structures – Modularity by creating capabilities to integrate with Web Services

4. 4 KRAD Development Strategy for KS Near Term - Use KNS to develop some KS administrative applications while using current KS framework for rich UI application needs. Requires some UI enhancements to be incorporated into a future version of KNS Long Term – KNS evolves into full featured KRAD. Use KRAD for all of KS application development Requires that KRAD includes common data dictionary, major UI enhancements and Web Services integration
