TOUR ESSENTIALS – TIME KEEPING It is essential that you keep to the dead- lines set by the staff on the trip. Everyday, you will be given instructions relating to meeting times or departure times you must adhere to these times. Failure to do so may mean that you miss a flight. Read your itinerary and note the times of flights and departures from schools. When you are billeted, you will need to inform your hosts of meeting times some are very early in the morning please be aware of these dates. Training sessions and day excursions are listed on the itinerary there may be extra ones added to the list. Fines will be given out to those who arrive late to training or to meetings - these will be collected by the fines master. The fining system has already started!!!

TOUR ESSENTIALS – BOOTS! It is important that before we travel that all rugby boots and trainers are completely clean. This is done to stop the spread of anything, which may damage the environment. Customs will take away any boots that are not clean which will cause delays. If boots are really bad your boots will be kept.

TOUR ESSENTIALS – HOTELS In several parts of the tour, we will be staying in hotels. The member of staff on duty will allocate room lists. Boys will not get to select who they room with! They must only use the room they have been allocated Please respect the fact that we are not the only guests staying in the hotel. do not use mini bars do not use hotel phones for either internal or external calls do not disturb other rooms/guests Boys MUST stay in their rooms after the curfew any rooming difficulties should be reported to the member of staff on duty

TOUR ESSENTIALS – CURFEWS In hotels, staff will set times for when tourists should be in the hotel at the end of the day. A register list will be available for boys to sign at the hotel reception once you have returned and checked in. A member of staff will always be on duty. If players fail to meet these times, there are consequences for the individuals involved and the tour group.

TOUR ESSENTIALS – STAYING WITH HOST FAMILIES Please remember that we are guests of not only the home Rugby Union but of the individual schools we play so that when you are staying with families, be aware of your responsibilities. On some occasions, you may be billeted with one or more squad members, you will have to share facilities and the accommodation which has been offered. The boys will not get to select who they billet with! At all times be polite, courteous and respect the family's hospitality. Do not abuse this by staying out too late. If you experience any difficulties during your stay, please see a member of staff or any member of the tour committee. At the end of each stay, present the family with a small gift (e.g. tour tie, program, chocolates etc). Take their email address so that you can write to them on your return to thank them for their hospitality.

TOUR ESSENTIALS – LAUNDRY After matches, you will need to have your kit cleaned & dried. Your billets may well do this. If not, then you will need to find the time to get your kit and tour uniform cleaned. Ask if you are unsure. In hotels, there may be an opportunity to use the laundry and iron - get some practise in before you go on tour.

TOUR ESSENTIALS – LUGGAGE You are restricted to one suitcase / holdall for your clothes – 20kgs. 6kgs for cabin baggage is permitted - but anything too large for the overhead lockers will be refused by the airline. You may want to use the tour rucksack or your own kit bag. Your main luggage and kit bag will need to be weighed and checked. Labels will need to be attached to the luggage. So this can be done, all bags will need to be stored in school at the start of the day (8.45am) on Friday 12 th July. This will allow us to check the luggage and finalise baggage numbers for check-in at the airports. All cases should be secured or locked.

Please note that any bottles / tablets must be carried in your carry on luggage - each must have your name and the dosage listed. 21 TOUR ESSENTIALS – PLAYER COMMITTEE The tour committee is there to be the voice of the players! They will meet regularly to discuss relevant day to day timings, activities, training etc. It is important that you talk to your representatives about any issues that concern you. These can then be discussed and dealt with by the appropriate member of staff. Player representatives will also be encouraged to work with all players to maintain high levels of discipline and commitment throughout the tour. They will also negotiate with staff about curfews and team selection. The committee members will provide an important platform for decision-making. Whinging and moaning should, as a result, be kept to a minimum.
