4 Climate Description 150-200 words Star Island is an island north-east of Japan. One side of the island has warm water coming from the equator and the other side of the island has cold water coming from the North. The weather changes throughout the year. It is actually cold most of the year. The two currents that cross into Star Island are Kuroshio the warm current and Oyashio the cold current. One thing that effects the island’s climate is that it’s close to one part of Russia where it is really cold. Winter is clearly the coldest season and summer is the warmest. August is the warmest month of the year but October is surprisingly warm too. In the winter, the temperature drops down to 4 degrees, while in the summer, the temperature is about 16 degrees. Star Island has a small mountain range up north. The mountains aren’t really tall, so they are about 1,000 feet tall or less. But there is some snow on them. Star Island has forests with different sorts of plants and wild life. (172 words)

6 Agriculture, Aquaculture, Livestock The items and resources that Star Island exports (sells) are fish, rice, poultry, dairy products, eggs, fruits, sugar beets, pork and vegetables. The resources or items that Star Island imports are machinery, fuels, foodstuff, raw materials, textiles and chemicals. I think they also have seaweed. Their major trading partners are the USA, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Saudi “Arabia, Australia and UAE. Star Island has enough grass to raise live stock, so they can sell dairy products from the cows they raise, they can also raise chickens. They grow rice, fruits, sugar beets and vegetables. They also raise pigs.

7 Climate Concerns 150-200 words Is Global Warming a concern in this part of the region? Of course! Since Star Island is so far up north, that if the ice in the north were to melt, then Star Island will be flooded! The people living there are absolutely terrified. What will happen to them if their little island were to flood? Global warming has been a big threat to our Earth because it melts the ice in the north and the south. People are getting worried because if all the ice melts, the ice will become water, then there will be more water and it will surely flood our Earth! Scientists on the island are forming a way to stop global warming from happening. Global Warming is a really big concern to parents because they worry about their children. Is there anyone that can stop Global warming from happening? The island isn’t polluted a lot because Japan doesn’t pollute as much as other countries. So the island is rather clean. The sea surrounding it is crystal clear and in the evening, it looks wonderful. It is a really clean island like Singapore. (176 words)
