2 Almond Cookie Almond cookies are believed to have come from the ancient Chinese walnut cookie, which was thought to bring good luck. In the mid 1800s, when Chinese immigrants came to the US, the walnut was replaced by the almond.

4 Tanghulu Tanghulu is a type of candy made with fruit covered in a suger-coated glaze that is often sold on the streets.

6 Chinese Cotton Candy China’s cotton candy, or yinsitang is made by folding a stringy sugar solution many times into a thick bundle. Yinsitang is said to of been invented 2,000 years ago.

8 Baobing Baobing is a pile of shaved ice topped with sweet syrup of all flavors. Usually baobing is served with fresh fruit like strawberries and sometimes condensed milk. This delicious dessert originated in Taiwan, but has spread onto the mainland as well.

9 Fortune Cookies The fortune is a crispy, golden brown sugar cookie. Inside a fortune cookie you will almost always find a small piece if paper containing a fortune, a Chinese word and a several lucky numbers.
