Come to the MC with a teacher pass or signed planner. Sign in/out of the MC Push in your chair when leaving the MC. Care for MC materials as your own.

Use the library OPAC to look for a title that you might be interested in. The OPAC may be found by going to the www.camdenschools.org Resources For Students Camden Middle School OPAC You may search the OPAC from any computer that has Internet capability.

Bring your selection to the circulation desk. State your last name clearly to the person behind the circulation desk. Take a date due card from the box on the counter and slip it into the back pocket of the book being borrowed.

Students are allowed 1 independent reading book at a time. Additional books may be taken out to help with class assignments, project work and/or personal hobbies/interests… simply communicate your needs... Regular loan period is approximately 10 school days… check your date due card!

In the event that a book becomes lost or damaged, students are financially responsible. Lost materials are billed at replacement cost. Media Center privileges are lost except for after school, 10th period until responsibility has been taken. *Note - If a paid item is suddenly found, return it for a full refund!

Need more time… RENEW! Overdue notices are sent to homerooms each Monday morning, if your homeroom teacher tells you that you have an overdue book please come to the MC and let us know when we can expect to receive the late item. Overdue materials that are 30 days or more receive letters home and students are restricted to eating his/her lunch in the Media Center until the overdue item is taken care of.

Ask about ILL Search for a title by choosing the Cider Union Catalog from the menu on the right hand side of the OPAC’s search page. Fill out an ILL slip (available on the small desk under the lightswitches) and give it to us, we will send it on its way! Whole process takes approximately 1 week, plan ahead.

Prior to your lunch at some point during the AM, come to the media center to sign out a colored pass. There are only six passes for each lunch period, they are located on the small desk to the left as you come through the doors. Go to lunch first… return the colored pass to the circulation desk. Stay until the end of the period.

Sign up in the media center prior to 2:14 dismissal. Come with a school related purpose/assignment… Arrive by the 2:25pm, start of 10th period.

Computer use is limited to school related assignments. Printing is limited to school related assignments… seek permission to print. Responsible use is expected, inappropriate use will result in suspension of privileges. Please tidy up your area prior to leaving!

Line up quickly and quietly at the door. Silently follow the teacher/assistant in charge out the door to the right, down the hall, and left out the doors by the gymnasium. Continue across and down Third Street.

Following the PA announcement, the teacher/assistant in charge will immediately close and lock the doors, the lights will be turned off. Students will sit around the perimeter of the room as silently as possible (avoiding doors and windows) to give the impression that there is no one in the room. Attendance will be taken using the sign in/out sheet. There is no response to a knock at the door, yelling in the hall, the sound of the fire alarm etc. Instructions will be given via the PA system in the event of an emergency. Cell phone use is NOT permitted during a lockdown!

If you lose or damage a book are you allowed to take out another? What does a student need to have in hand prior to coming to the media center? Where are the fiction books located? How are they arranged? If a friend wants to read your library book when you are finished what should you do? If you are through eating lunch is it okay to come to the MC to surf the web?
