1
Does climate change have an effect on Greenland? Group 3 Malene, Maeve, Cecilie, Cecilia and Agnes
2
Why is this important? Because it can affect the Greenlandic population. It can affect the animal and plant life in the Greenlandic nature. It can cause the ice sheet to melt, wich will have a global effect.
3
Andreas Bech mikkelsen Copenhagen university Takes measurements of the discharge and sediment transport to get a better understanding of meltwater rivers and the glecier process

Atmospheric Carbon levels 1975-2012
7
Atmospheric Carbon Levels Current level is 390 ppm -Has reached 400 ppm in the past year -Has reached 400 ppm in the past year -Exponential Growth Curve -Exponential Growth Curve Seasonal Fluctuation -High in winter, low in summer -High in winter, low in summer -Why? -Why?

The Carbon Cycle Permafrost AtmosphereBiosphereSoilLithosphere
9
Permafrost What is it? -Frozen soil (> 2 years) -Frozen soil (> 2 years) -Gelisols- ”ice soils” -Gelisols- ”ice soils” Why is it important? -Carbon store -Carbon store -Active layer exists on top (Cryoturbation) -Active layer exists on top (Cryoturbation)
10
Soil Profiles Remote sensing Classify areas Determine depth of permafrost Dig a soil pit (clean face) Examine layers Drill for permafrost
