2 What does it mean? The law is changing: from 2015 all young people will have to stay in learning until they are 18.

3 You will have to remain in learning until you are at least 18. What does it mean for you?

4 Does this mean you have to stay at school after year 11? No, but you do have to be in learning. This includes: –full-time education, such as school or college –work-based learning, such as an Apprenticeship –part-time education or training if you have a job or are self-employed or volunteering for more than 20 hours a week

5 Education is free until you are 19 Until you are 19 you can study at school or college for free After this you may have to pay It is important that you make the most of any courses you might want to do while they are still free

6 Next Steps? Think hard about what you hope to do in the future and find out what qualifications you need. You can’t just leave school so you do need to have a plan. Find out what everyone is offering and think about the best choice for you.

8 16 - 19 Bursary Fund Young people aged 16 to 19 studying at school or college may be eligible for support of up to £1,200
