4. The Context – Development Agenda: Timely & Crucial (GTP 2010-2015) – Ethiopia has reached a two-digit growth mark – What is the cost? Environment – Urbanization: Relatively low 5.4% but expected to reach 30% by 2020 (MoFA)

6. What has been done? – Trees planting campaigns: annual since the Ethiopian Millennium – Government-led Initatives – Addis Ababa City Government, NGOs, Kebeles and with limited private sector participation

7. Objectives To ensure that the Addis Ababa City Government develops and institutes proper post-tree planting campaign care for seedlings planted every year in the ten sub- cities of Addis Ababa within 18 months.

8. Objectives To enhance Addis Ababa based private companies already involved in environment entrepreneurship participation in restoring the city’s tree resources by annually contributing approximately US$ 40,000 by mid-2016.

9. Objectives – To increase Addis Ababa’s public participation in tree planting and post tree planting care efforts within each sub-city through edir/mahber leadership as a result of understanding and owning the purpose of reforesting Addis Ababa city by late 2016.
