A specification that will define – Server-to-server communication across Ethernet fieldbus networks – Remote configure and management services – Key extensions to the OPC Data Access standard OPC DX will not impact existing fieldbus specifications

Automation Users – Wanting an open standard for integrating and exchanging data from devices and controllers across multi-vendor Ethernet networks Automation Suppliers – Wanting to provide products based on an open, industry-standard for interoperability and data exchange
