4. What's a Fixed and Movable Pulley? Fixed- A pulley that is in a certain position above a load to be lifted. Movable- A pulley that is attached to a load that is being lifted. Compound- Two or more pulleys working together.

5. What Is a Spur Gear? A spur gear is the most common type of gear. They have straight teeth and are on parallel shafts.
