How does CVT work The CVT works upon the ratio of the diameter of the front and rear drive belt pulleys. Both front and rear pulleys are an assembly of moving plates.

Behind the moving plate of the front pulley, there are weighted rollers by centrifugal force, makes Rear Pulley produce opening and closing change. Drive belt will follow the opening and closing of the Pulleys and do change positions to achieve the effect of the automatic transmission
