2. Welcome to EBSCOs History Reference Center (HRC) tutorial. History Reference Center features full text for more than 1,620 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books from leading history publishers. In this tutorial, we will look at conducting a search from the Basic Search screen, as well as the other browsing options available in History Reference Center.

3. Well begin by conducting a search in History Reference Center from the Basic Search screen. Enter your terms in the Find field and click Search.

4. A result list is displayed. You can filter your results by subject under the column on the left. Click on a Full Text link to view the full text of the article, or click on an article title to view the Detailed Record for the article. If images or videos related to your search are available, they are found in the column on the right.

5. On the Detailed Record page, you can view all of the citation information for an article. Click a full text link to read the article. You can also Print, E-mail, Save, Cite, or Export an article by clicking the corresponding icons.

6. Basic Search also features two browsing options. You can Browse Subjects, or Browse Popular Sources. To Browse Subjects, select a category from the Basic Search Screen.

7. A list of topics for your chosen subject is displayed. Select a topic from the list.

8. Select a desired sub-topic from the resulting list.

9. A list of articles related to your chosen topic is displayed. Click on a full text link to read an article.

10. Returning to the Basic Search screen, use the left and right arrows to browse through the available Popular Sources. Click on a title to view the available chapters in the result list.

11. A result list of chapters for the source you selected is displayed. Click on a full text link to read a chapter.

12. The Reference Shelf area on the Home screen includes resources to assist with your research. Click a link to access the Dictionary, information on citing sources, the helpful research guide, or the curriculum standards module.

13. When you click the Dictionary link, the American Heritage Dictionary is displayed. Enter a term in the Browse for field and click Browse. Click on a hyperlinked term to view the definition. Select one or more terms and click Search to view a result list of items related to your terms.

14. Click on the Help link to view the complete online help manual. This concludes the History Reference Center tutorial.
