2 The WorldQuest NY competition will consist of 10 rounds of 10 questions each. The questions will be presented on PowerPoint slides. WorldQuest New York 2007 Rounds: Round 1 - Current Events Round 2 – Peacekeeping Round 3 – Great Decisions 2007 Round 4 – Countries Round 5 – International Law Round 6 – The OAS Round 7 – East Asia Round 8 – International Elections Round 9 – People in the News Round 10 – Diplomacy 2007

3 The following are a series of sample questions for many of the topics covered in WorldQuest New York 2007. These questions may be useful in preparing your students prepare for the competition. The first slide shown will have the question and answer choices. The next slide will contain the highlighted answer and information source for the question.

4 During the competition, each round will begin with a moderator reading the questions and the answers, and then allowing the group 15 seconds to choose their answer. Answers will be recorded using a remote control device. On the day of the competition, the rules will be reviewed and the students will be shown how to select their answers using the remote control. The questions that follow will not be used during the competition, but are representative of the format and types of questions that will be asked. Ready to try? Let’s Begin!
