The NYSVGA website provides growers with...  The ability to provide commercial produce buyers with real-time information regarding produce availability.  The ability to update contact and product availability on an as-needed basis.  The opportunity to gain exposure to new buyers and markets looking to buy vegetables grown in New York State.

3. The NYSVGA web-site provides buyers with...  The opportunity to source New York State- grown produce on a single website.  The opportunity to sort information by specific growers’ names, product, and/or location.  The grower contact information necessary to initiate contact and conduct a sales transaction.

5. The online shipper directory page is accessed through a password protected screen.

6. New users complete a registration process to begin using the online shipper directory.

7. Growers fill in their contact information so buyers have a variety of methods of contact in order to arrange a sale.

8. Growers can easily add a new commodity to their listings as soon as the crop is available for sale.

9. Buyers also fill in a registration form. Buyers are required to provide some type of verification regarding their position as a vegetable buyer.

10. Once a buyer is registered, he/she has a variety of options to use to view the produce available from NYS growers. One screen displays all of the commodities available from all of the growers on the site.

11. If buyers are looking for a specific commodity, they can also choose the crop from the commodity listing.

12. Buyers can easily see who has a specific crop available and click on the supplier’s name in order to obtain contact information

13. Growers and commodities can be sorted by buyers in alphabetical order or reverse. In addition, buyers can sort by starting and ending date for crops.

14. Buyers will also be able to sort the grower information by region in New York State.

15. Benefits of the site include...  Ease of use: updating crop information takes just seconds for the grower.  Essential information availability: Buyers can easily source the New York State-grown produce through the site. Produce availability is easy to locate and contact information is at their fingertips.  Economic impact: New York State-grown product will be easily located and sourced, providing benefits to the growers providing the product and to the buyers who are looking to fill orders requesting NYS-grown product.
