43 Permissions If the list of roles includes an asterisk, all users are granted the privilege. This is probably not a good idea for most documents. If the list of roles is empty, only the owners have the privilege.

44 Permissions If the list of roles does not contain an asterisk and is not empty, only users matching the list in some way have the privilege. For compatibility with early versions of the MIRCdocument schema, documents that are missing the "update" element are not editable.
