2 Praise be to the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.

3  Amen  Useful nuances of meaning throughout the Bible  Found at both the beginning and the end of important statements of Scripture.

4  Ancient Hebrew word usually transliterated into other languages.  Meaning: to make firm, to found, to prop up, to build, to support, to confirm.  Usual usage in the Bible: verily, surely, indeed, truly, so be it.

5  Numbers 5:22 -- May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells and your thigh wastes away. " " 'Then the woman is to say, "Amen. So be it."

6  To grant affirmation to significant doctrine  Deuteronomy 27:16- 26 – (26) "Cursed is the man who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"

7  Psalm 41:13 -- Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

8  1 Kings 1:36 -- Benaiah son of Jehoiada answered the king, "Amen! May the LORD, the God of my lord the king, so declare it.

9  Synoptic gospels record Jesus using Amen 54 times.  John records it 25 times, each a doubled amen.

10  John 1:51-- He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

11  Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

12  2 Corinthians 1:20 -- For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

13  Isaiah 65:16 -- Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the God of truth; he who takes an oath in the land will swear by the God of truth. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.  Revelation 3:14 -- To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.

14  Revelation 22:21 -- The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.
