Communications (Digital) Wireless communication is the ability to send data or video without being connected to a wire, either by telephone or handheld computer. Communications connectivity refers to a program device’s ability to link with other programs and devices.

Scanners Can read text printed on paper and transmit the information into a form the computer can use and edit. GPS GPS uses reference points to calculate positions accurate to a matter of meters. These points are called man-made stars. It is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from a constellation of 24 satellites and ground stations. PDA – Handheld Computers A PDA is a portable computer small enough to be held in one’s hand. It can be used to beam messages, read a book, keep track of appointments, and maintain a contact list. Stylus or touch screen used to input data

Notebook Computer Notebook is another name for laptop The principal difference between a notebook computer and a personal computer is portability. Plasma, high contrast, and LCD displays are used in flat screen monitors and portable computers.

Tablet A tablet can be written on with a special- purpose pen or stylus and then translate handwriting into text. Selections can be made on a touch screen using a pen, stylus, or finger.

Web Cam/Cell Phone/Web TV The Web camera broadcasts images through the Internet. The cell phone also allows users to access the Internet by wireless communication. The Web TV is a small box with a keyboard that connects to a telephone line and television.
