3 I will never forget the summer I took my first swimming lessons. I was such a mix of emotions. I was excited, I was scared. By the end of my last lesson, I was proud. My family supported me with my efforts. My teachers was so kind and made everything fun. I think I’ll never forget how hard it all seemed, but I kept trying and because I tried, I learned. I feel good about learning to swim. Someday maybe I can teach other kids, too. I will never forget the summer I took my first swimming lessons. I was such a mix of emotions. Extension Activities Reread your story. Think about the highlight, the “best part”, of your experience. Tell the audience about the “best part” of your story in the conclusion.

Go back to your introductory paragraph. Reread your introduction. Sometimes our conclusions bring us back to the beginning of the story. Write a conclusion that reminds the reader of how the story began.
