You can consume vegetables in many different ways. They can be either raw, cooked, canned, dried/dehydrated or in 100% juice form. Vegetables are broken into five subgroups which are based on their nutritional content. When thinking about eating any product made from milk you should pick either fat-free or low-fat. It is important to have foods that are made from milk because they are full of calcium. This category can also be called PROTEIN FOODS. Red meat, poultry, seafood, beans, and nuts. Some vegetables such as peas and some dairy products like eggs are also considered protein foods. When choosing any meat product it should be a lean or low-fat cut. Download this PDF worksheet. (Click on the worksheet to download it) You will need 2 copies. For 2 days write down everything that you ate and drank. EVERYTHING must be written down. When the 2 days are over look at what you ate and drank. Did you get what you need according to what we talked about? Tell me what you were missing and what did you eat too much of? Write down 2 different goals that you would like to make to improve the way that you eat.

Create a Glogster online poster. Your poster should tell me what you learned about making healthy food choices. Write about two goals that you are going to make on improving your way of eating. Your poster must have at least two pictures that reflect each of your goals. It must have music and you may add a video clip for 5 extra credit points. I want you to take a picture of the perfectly balanced plate. You will need a total of 4 pictures. In addition, you will need to write about each picture. Tell me what is on your plate, what food group it is from, how much of each item (you might need to weight it or measure it to be accurate!) and why it is a balanced plate.
