4 The status of relief…  344 days over  754 received compensation from State Govt.  1054 received compensation from Railways  Only 174 claims settled at Railway Claim Tribunal  Job in Railway – Out of 235 eligible, 47 offered and 15 employed  350 victims not got compensation from State Govt. till date  200 victim taking treatment on their own  Only 40% are able to filed claims with Railway Claim Tribunal

11 Study of 100 Grievances…  Recently a study / survey conducted of 100 affected  Informations asked for rehabilitation / compensation / status  It is found that 17 have been paid Rs.50,000/- ex-gratia from Railway as major injury. But state govt. rejected 6 of them and not paid a single paisa  While 11 victims declared by State Govt. as minor injury and paid only Rs.5,000/- ex- gratia

15 We Urge…  Early process of claim settlement  Daily hearing of Railway Claim Tribunal Bench  Special Team to attend & give Medical Help  Special Cell to attend Job applications  State govt. to disburse compensation for remaining 354 victims  Healing Touch to Defeat Intention of Terrorism  Fulfillment of commitment before 11 July 07  Justice  Complete rehabilitation of victims

16 Action Plan Suggested…  Ammend guideline and provide artificial limbs, hearing aids, etc.  Each case of medical help, medical reimbursement should be re-verified, expenses reimbursed immediately.  Directives be issued to complete payment of ex-gratia and such other compensation within 15 days.  Proper job of III Grade or IV Grade as per qualification and need of the person should be given.

17 Action Plan Suggested…  Railway Claims Dept. should be asked to approach each and every affected family and get claim filed.  Number of victims differs from Department to Department, Ministry to Ministry and Government to Government. One final list of 1077 prepared by Police/Railway should be treated as the base list.  All the concerned Departments be asked to provide legally eligible help to minimum 1077 families.  A Coordination Committee under the Chairmanship of Additional General Manager, Western Railway, should be formed to help and monitor all the above.
