2 R&HS Program Update 2010 New Streamer Criteria – Savannah – Large Post – 2 Required and 6 of 8 Desired – 3 Principal Criteria Collaborate and Conduct Outreach – One Required and three desired criteria Training and Education of Committee Members – One required and two desired criteria Committee Members Engage in Discussion of R&HS Outside of the Post – Three desired criteria

3 USACE Response Capabilities USACE Civil Disaster – Emergency Support Function #3 Lead under the National Response Framework – Cadres Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders Local Government Liaisons Structural Safety Assessment for Urban Search and Rescue – Subject Matter Experts – Planning and Response Teams Response: Power, Water, Ice, Infrastructure Assessment Recovery: Debris, Roofing /Rapid Repair, Housing/Critical Public Facilities – We have recently used team members for work in Haiti and Pakistan – and foresee more of this happening

4 USACE Response Capabilities USACE Field Force Engineering – Support to COCOMs – Field Engineering Support Team (FEST-A and M) – Contingency Real Estate Support Team (CREST) – Environmental Support Team (EnvST) – Reachback USACE Reachback Operations Center – Automated Route Recon Kit (ARRK) – Tele-Engineering Equipment - mobile, secure VTC – Have used these teams for Civil Disaster work and see using them more in the future

5 USACE Advanced Contract Initiative (ACI) Contracts Temporary Power Water Ice Debris Roofing World-wide Power from NAP (Not ACI – but we can use it!)

6 Questions to Members Do you know your firm’s capabilities in disaster response? Have you spoken with you local County or City Emergency Manager regarding the gaps they have found? Are you on a team that holds a USACE ACI Contract? Are you on a team that holds a FEMA IA-TAC or PA-TAC contract?
