The Situation Cyber threats continue to grow and experts believe that cyber security will be a significant issue in the future There are just a few small changes citizens can make to keep themselves safer We want to educate people on the threats that they face and the steps they can take to be more secure online

Goals of the Campaign Educate target publics on what cyber security is and what can happen as a result of breaches in cyber security Inform the target publics of basic behavioral changes they can make in order to be safer and more secure while being online/exposed to the cyber world.

Objectives of the Campaign Increase awareness of cyber security by 10%, within the next 6 months. Determine what the public currently knows about cyber security. Generate an 8% increase in the number of people who take cyber security seriously.

Objectives of the Campaign Cont. Increase public awareness of various websites, which focus on cyber security. Increase traffic to cyber security section of the Department of Homeland Security website by 15% Increase the number of people who exercise some form of cyber secure behavior by 15%, within the next 10 months. Increase the awareness of where to locate information regarding behavioral changes among the target publics by 10%.

Take Action! This campaign is recommended to run from August 1 st, 2014 to December 25 th, 2014 * Note that October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month We have outlined in a calendar sample steps of action to take by month and weeks

Evaluate the Results Re-Run the cyber security survey Check social media analytics Review overall social media feedback/comments Count all Twitter re-tweets Measure traffic from August-December 2014 on IDHS website
