Gifted and Talented Record Transfer The following steps are for the person in charge of enrollment: Click on “KY State Importing Wizard” in order to import GT Records when they are enrolling a new student After clicking on the “Wizard”, the GT record page will be imported Scroll down several pages to view the GT Data Entry page Notify GT Coordinator/GT Teacher there is a new GT student in the district 29

GT Data Entry Screen This screen will be displayed when you import the data from the “KY State Importing Wizard” Click “Save” to save the record It is very important that the Enrollment personnel notify Gifted and Talented staff of new Gifted and Talented students to the district 30

General Intellectual Abilities (GI) Districts should use a norm-referenced full scale (verbal and non-verbal) test of intellectual ability Students must score at the 9 th stanine or above, unless special considerations are being utilized A few district examples are: Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) TerraNova Inview NOTE: Assessments should be normed every 8-10 years to keep up with current student population scores. 43

Specific Academic Aptitude (SAA) Districts should give a norm-referenced achievement test which gives a composite score Student should score at the 9 th stanine, unless a district is using special considerations A few examples: Iowa Test of Basic Skills Measures of Academic Progress California Achievement Test NOTE: The NRT section (A) of the KPREP for Social Studies and Science may be used. 44
