Organic sales grow despite downturn Sales of non-organic food grew by just 2.7pc in the same period. Two thirds of organic food buyers said that their purchases would stay at the same level or grow this year despite the downturn. Irish Independent, Tuesday March 24,2009 Survey results from Bord Bia show that sales of organic food in shops and supermarkets for the 12-week period to the end of January 2009 grew by 11pc compared to the same period last year.
