Summer (Acrostic) Sunshine is all we see Under the shade of a beautiful tree My lemonade sits on the grass My eyes see gigantic insects pass Everyone wears t-shirts and shorts Running and swimming are summer sports

Popcorn (Cinquain) Kernel Extremely small When heated, starts to pop Into a fine and fluffy food Popcorn

Humans (Diamante) Baby Young, small Murmuring, crying, smiling Curious, attentive-mature, polite Loving, caring, hardworking Busy, helpful Adult

Vanessa (Clerihew) Vanessa the gimp Is a jumbo shrimp She’s as hard as rock And she likes to mock

Morose the Pig (Limerick) There once was a pig named Morose Who always had mud on his nose His belly hung low And swung to and fro That darn belly hung to his toes

Jumpty Dumpty (Parody) Jumpty Dumpty Was sent to school Jumpty Dumpty Just dared to drool All of the teachers and all the duties Wanted to cure that case of his cooties

The World Irish Dance Competition (Sonnet) My mom and I board the petite plane Our carry-on’s in hand, we spot our seat The length of the flight is almost insane The land we fly over looks very neat My great destination is Ireland To compete in the worlds for Irish Dance We head into town our suitcase in hand Our Bed and Breakfast is found with a glance

The World Irish Dance Competition (continued) All the dancers with their cute curly hair They complete their routine without a flaw When the dancers jump they fly through the air I watch the dancers, completely in awe What an experience, it’s hard to beat To go to Ireland was so, so neat

Dora’s Dancin’ Shoes (Ballad) Delightful Dora just loved to dance All around her room she seemed to prance She practiced hard and danced very well She had such passion you could just tell Her practice was set for late on day Where were her shoes and what would she say They weren’t in her dance bad or in her room The comp is coming, oh no, I’m doomed

Dora’s Dancin’ Shoes (Continued) Worriedly she approached her mother Oh don’t tell me you’re like you’re brother Go look through your room they might be There She thought I’m so careful, this is unfair She went to the practice anyway This was definitely the worst day Everyone tried to help Dora out They looked through there bags, but felt some doubt

Dora’s Dancin’ Shoes (Continued) Practicing with no shoes hurt the feet It was hard to tell if she hit the beat Feeling quite hopeless she left from dance She thought of her locker, there’s a chance At school Dora looked all through her class She told the students as they went past She couldn’t help but feel very sick She hoped no one was playing a trick

Dora’s Dancin’ Shoes Dora didn’t know where else to look They must just be in a little nook Dora searched the closets and cubbies All she found were Sam’s toy teletubbies Poor Dora was ready to give up Then suddenly she thought of her pup Rapidly she ran out to his house As she ran out she tripped on a grouse

Dora’s Dancin’ Shoes She stumbled through the houses door There were her shoes sitting on the floor Excitedly she picked up her shoes Then she left with a flash to tell the news
