Our Original Concept  Our original idea was a redesign of the toilet bowl itself.  If a wedge was cut or built into the side of the toilet bowl, water would flow out of it like a spout in the event of an overflow.  However, this idea was more costly than we wanted it to be.  We wanted something that was simple, inexpensive, and did not involve purchasing a brand new toilet.

7. Our Solution: Damage Control! We have invented a toilet seat that funnels overflowing water into a removable container. After being redirected to the container, the excess water can simply be dumped into the bathtub or your backyard. The “Damage Control” toilet seat is intended to replace the existing seat on one’s current toilet. Our seat features a layer of padding on top of the plastic base.

Advantages yielded by our product  Any water that overflows will go into the container, rather than all over your floor!  In the event of a clogging and subsequent overflow, the user no longer has to panic and run around looking for a plunger.  This solution is much cheaper than buying a new high-end toilet (the seat is the only thing being replaced).  It’s comfortable!

9. Disadvantages  The user must remove the existing toilet seat in order to install the Damage Control toilet seat.  Water stored in the overflow container can be a pain to dispose of.  Our product does not solve the problem of clogging; it only prevents a disaster from occurring.
