4 President: Coordinates the Meeting Agenda Conducts the Meeting Fosters a working relationship with the other officers and adviser(s) Serves as a Spokesperson for the Organization Duties and Responsibilities

5 Vice President: Conducts business in the absence of the President Provides Leadership to the Committee Chairpersons Duties and Responsibilities

6 Secretary: Posts Meeting Times/Dates Records Meeting Minutes Maintains Attendance Records Records/Sends Correspondence Duties and Responsibilities

7 Treasurer: Collects/Deposits Money Completes Check Requests Reports Financial Status Develops Budget Duties and Responsibilities

8 Standing Committees: Permanent/ongoing Examples: Events Committee, Publications Committee, Fundraising Committee Ad-hoc Committees: Temporary Developed for a Specific Task/Recommendation Committee Structure

10 Running an Effective Meeting Before: Officers and Adviser(s) Meet to determine Agenda Gather Needed Supplies Post Date/Time/Agenda During: Greet Members Distribute Meeting Agenda Start on Time/End on Time Stick to the Agenda Delegate responsibilities and establish due dates Give members a voice in decisions
