HONORS AND ACADEMIC  There are two levels of coursework for the REQUIRED courses in the department: Honors TrackAcademic and TAM Track 9 th Grade Civics/ Geography Participating in We the People 9 th Grade Civics/ Geography 10 th Grade Economics/ Personal Finance 11 th Grade U.S. History Taking the DCAS 11 th Grade U.S. History Taking the DCAS

WHY DOES IT SEEM LIKE EVERYBODY IS TAKING CIVICS THIS YEAR?  Because of new regulations involving DCAS and Delaware End of Course Exams, Laurel High School is presently re-sequencing the required courses in Social Studies.  Because of this drastic change in what class students take in which grade levels, ALL 9-11 th grade students are taking Civics or US Government and History.  The 2012-2013 school year, the courses will be offered, and students scheduled, in the correct sequence.
