3 Student Response System Student Response System (SRS) - aka - “Clickers” Purposes: –Engage audience through interactivity –Check for understanding –Collect evaluation information –Provide instant feedback

6 1.Press and release the "GO" button. 2.While the light is flashing red and green, enter 41. 3.After the second digit is entered, you will see an amber light. 4.IMMEDIATELY click and HOLD the “GO” button again. 5.The light will change to a solid green for a few seconds. 26 Best Practices Label each clicker and receiver Break the Ice –Introduce the Student Response System –Use an “ice breaker” slide at the beginning –Have students practice using clickers to become comfortable with technology Prompt –Differentiate between content slides and interactive slides with visual cue –Use a “Correct Answer” object to visually identify appropriate answer Mix it Up –Break up the content delivery by inserting interactive slides among content slides to keep audience engaged and check understanding –Use a variety of interactive slides –Use comparison slides to track pre/post changes
