6 I want my children to understand the world, but not just because the world is fascinating and the human mind is curious. I want them to understand it so that they will be positioned to make it a better place. Knowledge is not the same as morality, but we need to understand if we are to avoid past mistakes and move in productive directions. Please feel free, but not obligated, to refer to the following questions in your reflection. / Which one (or several) of Gardner’s categories do you think you fall under? How do you express this intelligence in your life? / Think about a teacher, mentor, coach, or role model that you feel has influenced or inspired you in some way. According to Gardner’s theory, what kind of intelligence(s) do you think this person possessed? Do you have that same intelligence in common? / Can you think of any other types of intelligence that might be added to Gardner’s list?
