14. Oct. 1835 – April 1836 Nov. 1835 - A group of Texans formed a temporary gov’t with goals: Defeat Santa Anna Restore Mexico’s republic constitution

15. Battle of the Alamo Texans surrounded and out numbered by Mexican soldiers. After 13 days of fighting Mexican soldiers win. What effect would this have on the people of Texas?

17. Texas delegates wrote a declaration of independence & a constitution. Based on the U.S. Constitution, but made slavery legal Santa Anna was defeated at the Battle of San Jacinto. Defeated by Sam Houston Forced to sign the peace treaty! TEXAS WINS!
