ZOE The Life of GOD Part 17

I John 5 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life (perpetual ZOE), and this life is in his Son.

3 Kinds of Life BIOS – natural life and is very short and is temporary (plant, animal, body – biography, and biology) PSUCHE – soul, mind, will, & emotions and is immortal (can not cease to exist, can not die) psyche, and psychology ZOE – life of God and is eternal (perpetual, instantly and constantly being renewed). Resides in your spirit.

2 Corinthians 4 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life (ZOE) also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

II Peter 1 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

II Peter 1 3 According as his divine (gk. – Godhead’s) power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life (ZOE) and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (gk.- equal partners of the Godhead), having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

II Peter 1 5 And beside this (the great promises), giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

II Peter 1 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

II Peter 1 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Diligence Attentive and persistent in doing a thing; steadily applied; active; unremitting; untiring; constancy of effort; speed and earnestness; meticulous; Opposite of: Lazy, Carelessness, Lethargy, Indifference, Apathy Lazy, Carelessness, Lethargy, Indifference, Apathy (Jesus equates it with FAITHFULNESS)

Luke 16 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Faith Absolute certainty in the trustworthiness of another: (should be GOD) TRUST Opposite of: disbelief, distrust, doubt, misgiving, skepticism, suspicion, uncertainty, to be unsure, lacking in confidence, FEAR

Hebrews 11 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek (gk. – crave) him.

Virtue (gk. – VALOR) Courage; Boldness; Brave; Fearless especially in battle Opposite of: Cowardice, Fearful, Timid, Faint- hearted, Shrinking, Shy, Skittish, Retreating, Subdued

Joshua 14 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heard in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.

Knowledge (gk. – science) Information, especially that gained through observation, identification, description, investigation, experience, and explanation. Opposite of: Ignorance, Unawareness, Incomprehension, Incapacity (which puts you in a position of being weak, helpless, powerless)

Exodus 36 1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.

Temperance Self-control; Self-discipline; To rule over or dominate one’s self; Strong in the mastery of yourself Opposite of: Careless, Inattentive, Easily Distracted Negligent, Slack, Apathetic, Half-hearted, Lukewarm, Self (flesh)-indulgent, Uncontrolled and Excessive

1 Corinthians 9 AMP 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.

1 Corinthians 9 AMP 25 Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither.

1 Corinthians 9 AMP 27 But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].

Hebrews 6 11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit (obtain possession of) the promises.

I Corinthians 16 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men (COWBOY UP!!), be strong. PATIENCE: FINDING A WAY TO STAY IN THE FIGHT LONG ENOUGH FOR GOD TO GET YOU THE VICTORY!!

Hebrews 12 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience (the quality that refuses to give up!) the race that is set before us,

Hebrews 12 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured (gk. – have fortitude, persevere, cowboy up!) the cross, despising (deem unworthy of your attention) the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction (nasty opposition) of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds (psuche).

Hebrews 12 4 Ye have not yet resisted (gk.- set down troops against) unto blood, striving (gk.- antago ̄ nizomai; antagonize, to cause a problem for with hostility) against sin (settling for less than God’s perfect will).

Hebrews 10 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke (gk. – offend, anger, incense, enrage) unto love and to good works:

Hebrews 10 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
