causes amoebiasis – Montezuma’s Revenge – diarrhea, intense abdominal pain, dehydration

ex: P. falciparum – causes malaria – destroys blood cells, chills, fever, fatigue, death.
ex: Toxoplasmosis – harmless to most adults, but can cause infant blindness, mental retardation, other deformaties
