3 Vision The North Dakota Chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals: Offers educational and training opportunities for our membership Provides recognition and enhancement of our workforce professionals Contributes to the success of our members and their respective agencies and organizations

4 Mission The ND Chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) is dedicated to providing networking and professional development opportunities for members.

5 State of the Association Strengths − Agency support − Encouraging membership − Enhancing skills of all members − Financial health − Goal driven − Improved communication with members − Providing professional training and educational opportunities

6 State of the Association Weaknesses: − Competing demands for time − Lack of one-on-one membership recruitment − Limited involvement with International activities − Limited member involvement − Limited member only benefits − Losing long term members  High percentage of retirements

7 State of the Association Opportunities for Improvement: − Network to Increase Membership − Increase Membership Involvement − Partner with Workforce System  Higher Education  DHS, CTE, DPI, VR, MSC, EDC, ND Chamber − Workforce Legislation Education and Awareness

8 State of the Association Threats: − Aging Membership − Financial hardships of participation: membership, conference attendance, and associated expenses − Lack of Understanding the Benefits of Membership in ND IAWP − Time Commitment

9 Goals 1.Strengthen Working Relationship with management 2.Provide professional development, training and leadership opportunities 3.Improve communication with membership 4.Recruit workforce professionals for ND IAWP membership

10 Plans of Action Goal 1: Strengthen working relationship with management − Invite managers to participate in forums and conferences − President or designee brief Senior Management on association strategic plan − Utilize survey results to develop training that aligns with Agency Goals

11 Plans of Action Goal 2: Provide professional development, training and leadership opportunities − Develop Training Committee − Identify work pertinent training topics − Conduct one training conference per year − Develop leadership opportunities through board involvement, facilitation of training, and conference committees

12 Plans of Action Goal 3: Improve communication with membership − Continue to publish board minutes − Articles for intranet, iawpnd.com and International Countdown − Develop method of member notification − Make personal contact with other workforce professionals − Share survey results and plan of action with members

13 Plans of Action Goal 4 - Recruit workforce professionals for ND IAWP membership − Invite and encourage membership by developing a campaign to reach our co-workers, and partner organizations − Promote member only benefits
