10 Responding to S&T co-operation with China – The Development of a Cross-Border Agro-Food Processing S&T Platform December 2004 SPI - Your Partner for Innovation Management of the organic farms -- Organic plantation bases selection strictly according to international standards. First of all, the solid, underground water, environment air have to be checked and meet the requirements, and convenient for water and solid preservation. Secondly, the boundary of the base has to be at least 8 meters away from conventional farming area, and there is no pollution source nearby for fear of the occurrence of excursion pollution. Besides, no prohibited materials have been used recently for the sake of smooth conversion.

11 Responding to S&T co-operation with China – The Development of a Cross-Border Agro-Food Processing S&T Platform December 2004 SPI - Your Partner for Innovation -- Famous experts, professors and scholars in organic agriculture in China invited as consultants, agronomy doctors and masters recruited and Organic Business Department set up to manage and control the farming of the bases strictly according to international organic farm standards and working regulations. Both physical and biological pests prevention methods are adopted such as insecticidal lamp, gender induce measure, blending liquid of suger and vinegar, paper-bag covering technique etc. All the farming materials plunged into the base should be natural, and neither chemical fertilizers nor venomous pesticides are permitted. Detailed records are kept from farming activities to packaging, storing, trafficing and distribution, in order to realize the innocuity control of the whole process from farmland to the dining table.
