My own little project… ST20043634 Laura Martin Textiles Mary gave me a project on the first day which involved re- designing and re-vamping these three lamp stands and shades. I was told to choose three different styles from the new Annie Sloan Book “Room Recipes for Style & Colour”. I chose ‘Modern Retro’, ‘Bohemian’ and ‘Rustic Country’. I would start these lamps once I had attended the chalk paint workshop

What did I learn? ST20043634 Laura Martin Textiles I was introduced to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, learning the many different ways you can work with it. I took part in the chalk paint workshops available to me (free of charge) Experimenting before painting is always the best way to start a project. Experimented with new techniques & textures I was able to be part of a small business to gain knowledge in the interior/textiles industry. Be part of a small team. Be inspired by the team and customers projects. Design and re-vamp a lamp stand and shade, a useful skill I can use in future Textiles projects.
