 Telecommuting, also knows as telework is a working arrangement in which company employees enjoy limited adaptions in working hours and location.  Employees have the opportunity to work from home, and anywhere else while using a network of telecommuting links

 Time is not lost: employees and workers don’t have to waste time by travelling from place to place.  Productivity increased: employees have the ability to relax and work whereas there will be fewer amounts of actual stress than working in an office and can enjoy a hot cup of coffee at the same time  Savings can be cut: parking spaces would not be necessary as well as business facilities would be useless when it comes to telecommuting.  Everybody is happy!

 Heavily isolated: Working could turn out to be more lonely than expected and can depression and can cause lack of social interaction.  Lack of social interaction: Employees might feel the need to interact face to face with their colleagues, and chances for brainstorming or consulting together is avoided. It makes it harder to share important ideas and suggestions due to this problem, no social interaction.  Health: health issues are to be concerned especially when using the computer 24/7. Working in the office could be more efficient in terms of health, there will be more paperwork and etc. long hours of computer use can cause damage to the brain, which might result to them being hospitalised.

 Lack of security – all the company databases can be easily accessed by anyone since everything is computerised.  Owners may lose authority and control over the employees or workers since nobody works in their offices. Employees can do things on their own accord.  It can be a very huge matter when one important has no access to the internet, therefore will have no access to telecommuting with other employees.  Now that employees don’t work in offices anymore, everyone will be too reliable and dependant on their computers, whereas they might not have any backup and can lose all their work information.

 Ergonomics is defines as science of designing the workplace environment to fit the user.  The word “Ergonomics” is derived from the Greek word “Ergon” meaning work, and “Nomoi” meaning natural laws.  Ergonomics can be used to avoid Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) which can lead to harm or a harmful disability.

Feet firmly on the ground Less preasure on the seat Back erected and supported Shoulders relaxed Head up Eyes looking forward Hands in line with forearms Monitor at eye height and an arms distant away

 Sitting straight – can prevent serious back pain, back pain is caused by arching the back and staring at the monitor from a very close angle.  Monitor at same height as eyes – this can avoid eye strain, eye strain can be identified when they turn red or rapidly begins to itch.  Take a few breaks – working continuously on the computer can result in stress, such as headaches, and lack of sleep  Keep foods and drinks away from the hard ware – by doing this you could be avoiding accidents such as electric shocks when a liquid has been spilled. Shame 

 Day by day, technology and society are upgraded constantly, therefore it is important to improve convenience and effeciency.  Workers must have become previously obsolescence and will need to replace that with newer knowledge.

 Provides new skills – brand new skills would be introduced therefore making them more efficient.  Easy adaptations – Employees will eventually adapt to the new technology that has been introduced such as machinery.  Performance – will be increased since there is more knowledge of the new concept, whereby there will be less chance of mistakes and problems in the workplace

 Expensive – takes a lot of money to purchase machinery and train empoyees  Retrainers – they will be needed in order to retrain the employees.  Time consuming – takes a lot of time to retrain employees.

 What It Is: Employee monitoring/surveillance is any method by which the company or business who the person/persons work for's actions are tracked while they at work.

 Monitoring employees online activity e.g.: Tracking emails, bandwidth they use, websites visited, file transfers by using specific software that tracks network activity etc.  Monitoring telephone activity e.g.: Listening to phone calls, recording phone calls.  Other methods also include video surveillance, and employed people who are specifically paid to watch over other employees.

 Save company money  Can increase productivity  Avoid legal issues  Prevent private company information leaking out  Control employee making sure no inappropriate behaviour is happening

 Invades employees privacy  Stressful for employees  Can decrease productivity  Can cause distrust

 What it is: Online job searching is just simply searching various job sites on the internet for jobs that are available.

 There are many job sites that can be searched and they can be searched in many forms from typing in what your degree is or what type of job you’re looking for or amount of salary you’re looking for.

 Very fast  Simple to use  An immense number of jobs to search from  Anyone can use it  Up to date information

 Information can be unreliable sometimes  Company and person applying don’t have face to face contact.  Sometimes there can be too much information
