Exiled Leader This is the amazing story of a boy called Lhamo Thondup who became the spiritual and political leader of Tibet, whom they call the Dalai Lama.

Explain why the Dalai Lama was leaving the country in a hurry. Describe the conditions of his escape. State what gave him the courage and what would give you courage in a difficult situation.

The Dalai Lama receives the Nobel Peace Prize. You will learn about what the Dalai Lama said in his Nobel Peace Prize Speech. I hope you will be able to: State the main points of his speech. Explain what is meant when the Dalai Lama talks about having compassion. Express your opinion about hating and forgiving others who have wronged you.

The wheel of the Dalai Lama’s Life In this lesson you will present the life story of the Dalai Lama in pictures, using the Tibetan Wheel of Life sheet provided. I hope you will be able to: Design a heading such as - ‘The 14 th Dalai Lama of Tibet’ Identify six of the most interesting and important parts of his life story. Draw and colour a picture for each of these six points.
