LWDBs must incorporate “local wisdom”; do not rely only on the “numbers”

Useful for any Texas LWDB region-- documented in Connecting the Dots Labor Market information (LMI) resources are already available, **Minimal Additional Data Collection Required Based on regional economic theory of how job openings occur and how regions develop from industry perspective Features include: Occupational Profiles, Employer Contact database, Shift-share model, INDEVAL, Regional Narrative Report, Research Papers, Employment and Projections, Industry Staffing Patterns, Occupational Wages---for any LWDB in Texas

August 2003 Career Development Resources7 LMI Taxonomies Industries--Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) moves to North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) in 2002 for all industry data. ES- 202 starts 1stQTR2001 with NAICS CES changes Jan 2003 Occupations--Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) and Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) migrate to (SOC) Standard Occupational Classification a.k.a. O*NET 3.0, 2000 Census (modified SOC). 2000 wage data by SOC, 2010 projections by SOC/SIC Training Programs--1990 (CIP) Classification of Instructional Programs changes to CIP2000. WECM becomes integrated. DOE/OVAE promotes 16 Career Clusters. NSSB 15 skills standards groups. Crosswalks--Required to create an integrated data system, e.g. SOC to CIP, NAICS to SOC, SOC to Clusters
