4. Romania – general presentation  Romania is a South- Est European country.  Romania is considered a Latinity island in a Slavian Ocean.

6. Geography But today there are 41 counties, called “judete” and the district of Bucharest, our capital. Romania is divided in 6 historical regions, Moldavia and Dobroudja in the East, Valachia and Oltenia in the south, Banat and Crisana in the west, Maramures and Bucovina in the north andTransilvania in the Centre.

8. The famous monasteries of Bucovina (the five wonders of Moldavia are : Humor (1530), Moldovita (1532), Arbore (1503 - 1541), Voronet (1488-1547) and Sucevita (1582- 1592) are unique too in Europe. The Danube Delta is unique in Europe, through its landscapes, flora and fauna. It is declared biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

11. VASLUI – geography  Vaslui is a North – Eastern County of Romania, in Moldavia, having 5 318 km² and 500000 inhabitants. The residence town is Vaslui, with 100000 inhabitants.  Vaslui was mentioned for the first time in the internal documents from March 31 st 1423, of the king Alexander the Good, and in the external documents exterieurs in 1375
