3. Semicolon
Use a semicolon to separate main clauses that are not joined by a coordinating conjunction.
She can’t play the saxophone, but I know she’s like to learn.
She can’t play the saxophone; I know she’d like to learn.

4. Directions: Rewrite these sentences taking out the comma and coordination conjunction, and replace it with a semicolon.
I arrived late, so I crept on the stairs quietly.
