Dawes Plan-reduced German debt, spurred American investment in Germany. This caused some prosperity until 1929 Treaty of Locarno- expanded German borders, allowed Germany to League of Nations. War “renounced” This would not last

Causes:Long term-War debt, too much borrowing, too much reliance on American Investment Causes:Short term: American Stock market crash, banks collapse, American halting of froegn loans

Million unemployed worldwide Governments become more authoritarian as citizens lose faith in capitalism and democracy Nazis take control in Germany Fascists in Italy and Spain Dictatorship in aggressive Japan
